Ive got to tell you about this guy
Hi there
Like most of us here in Dubai I’ve experienced some REALLY bad customer service over the years. Sales people in shops not knowing what their talking about, telling you anything just to get the sale, or standing so close to you you cant breath or just not being able to get any service at all.
I just want to tell you about some fantastic customer service I’ve received over the last 12 months.
Its from a guy called Dante at Pro Technolgy on Seik Zayed Rd He is an expert in Macintosh computers and also knows the PC inside out.
I went in last Saturday and again Dante helped me out with an issue I was having with Boot Camp so I can run Windows on my Mac. (not something I really wanted but theres a tiny program I need to run that only works in windows and saves me hours of work)
Anyway as usual Dante provided so much extra value to me that I found out I had a lot of wasted space through deleted files and other things on my hard drive. He explained that I was running low on memory and how to fix it for the best price. Which I did!! With his help.
It was definitely a fantastic “feel good” experience knowing I had gotten great advise without any BS and its a pleasure doing business with Dante.
I also have a friend that went in last year to buy a new PC and was so impressed with their passion, service and knowledge she bought a Mac right then.
If you need any help for your Mac or PC, if its running slow or just not as it should be contact Dante and he’ll help you out.
I would definitely say it’s the best service in Dubai and nothing is too hard for him.
In theses times of the “credit crunch” we can all learn from people who add so much value to what your doing you cant help but buy from them.
Dante Saliba number is 0502834 313 give him a call
Regards
Michael
P.S if you know any one in your business that adds an incredible amount of value to your customers give them a big thank you today because they will turn one time shoppers into life long customers

KIVA - Echo Health Team
Hi!
I want to recruit you to our lending team, Echo Health, on Kiva, a non-profit website that allows you to lend as little as $25 to a specific low-income entrepreneur in the developing world. You choose who to lend to - whether a baker in Afghanistan, a goat herder in Uganda, a farmer in Peru, a restaurateur in Cambodia, or a tailor in Iraq - and as they repay the loan, you get your money back.
If you join my lending team, we can work together to alleviate poverty. Once you're a part of the team, you can choose to have a future loan on Kiva "count" towards our team's impact. The loan is still yours, and repayments still come to you - but you can also choose to have the loan show up in our team's collective portfolio, so our team's overall impact will grow!
Go to http://www.kiva.org/community/viewTeam?team_id=4723 and join.
We already have 7 loans active but theyre under my personal name as I've just started this team.
Enjoy your week end and make a difference.
Best wishes
Michael

How EVERY pruchase of Manuka Honey is helping the world
Hi!
You and I just made a loan to someone in the developing world using a revolutionary new website called Kiva (www.kiva.org).
You can go to Kiva's website and lend to someone in the developing world who needs a loan for their business - like raising goats, selling vegetables at market or making bricks. Each loan has a picture of the entrepreneur, a description of their business and how they plan to use the loan so you know exactly how your money is being spent - and you get updates letting you know how the entrepreneur is going.
The best part is, when the entrepreneur pays back their loan you get your money back - and Kiva's loans are managed by microfinance institutions on the ground who have a lot of experience doing this, so you can trust that your money is being handled responsibly.
I just made a loan to an entrepreneur named Marta del Socorro Muñoz Martínez in Nicaragua. They still need another $500.00 to complete their loan request of $850.00 (you can loan as little as $25.00!). Help me get this entrepreneur off the ground by clicking on the link below to make a loan to Marta del Socorro Muñoz Martínez too:
It's finally easy to actually do something about poverty - using Kiva I know exactly who my money is loaned to and what they're using it for. And most of all, I know that I'm helping them build a
sustainable business that will provide income to feed, clothe, house and educate their family long after my loan is paid back.
Join me in changing the world - one loan at a time.
Thanks!

Manuka Honey Saves Mans Leg
”Lo and behold the healing powers of the substance first used by Egyptians 4,000 years ago began to fight the infection plaguing Lloyd’s right leg. A month after applying the product, doctors report the leg is good as new.”
The patient, Franklin Lloyd, 68, had been close to a recommendation of amputation of his leg after a series of setbacks that allowed a yeast infection to invade his leg after taking immunosuppressant drugs for a kidney condition. But doctors at North Shore LIJ, led by Dr Marcia Epstein, started treating the leg with manuka honey. Today Mr Lloyd’s leg is safe, and has not had to endure skin grafts or plastic surgery — not to mention the loss of a limb.
It is also used for diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers and bedsores. Honey has been used as a wound dressing in societies all over the world for thousands of years.

Research on manuka honey effect on ulcers
Research on manuka honey effect on ulcers
OTAGO DAILY TIMES
By Elspeth McLean on Thu, 11 Dec 2008
University of Otago | News: Dunedin | Health
"A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down," so the song goes, but for some Dunedin cancer patients next year, three spoonfuls of honey a day will be part of the medicine.
They will be taking part in research to determine if Manuka honey can ease the effects of radiation therapy.
The study, based on a two-year randomised trial, will involve 120 patients in Dunedin, Wellington and Palmerston North who are receiving radiation therapy for head and neck cancers.
Principal investigator, University of Otago senior lecturer in the department of radiation therapy (Wellington) Dr Patries Herst said mouth ulcers were a common side-effect from radiation treatment.
She knew of cases where patients could not speak or eat because their mouths were so painful.
Patients could lose much weight in a six-week treatment and the ulcers could lead to infection and gum disease.
Cancer patients already had enough grief in their lives and "they don't need this".
It was hoped that by swirling 20ml of honey around to coat the inside of patients' mouths three times a day - before treatment, immediately after and six hours later - ulceration might be avoided.
Small overseas trials in Malaysia, Iran and Egypt had pointed to the benefits of such treatment.
For the larger New Zealand trial, Dr Herst had chosen to use Manuka honey because it had been shown to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Those in the trial who do not receive the honey treatment will receive other medications, such as lozenges and mouth gels, as usual, while those swirling the honey will do so in addition to other usual treatments.
Dr Herst said more research could be done into ways of improving the quality of life for cancer patients.
Clinical trials tended to concentrate on extending life rather than expanding it, she said.
Dr Herst is also principal investigator in another radiation therapy department study using a type of burn dressing for women breast-cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.
The breast-dressings study, involving 40 women, which is being carried out in collaboration with the radiation therapy department of Dunedin Hospital, involves using thin inert dressings to cover skin reactions to radiation therapy.
Dr Herst said skin reactions showed up after about two weeks of treatment and could range from slight reddening to ulceration, making life most uncomfortable at an already difficult time in the women's lives.
Conventional treatment was to use a moisturising cream, but for many women this did little to ease the discomfort of wearing everyday clothing.
Preliminary results were promising, the dressings proving more effective in protecting the skin from further deterioration than the use of the moisturiser.
Dr Herst said the women used the dressings for a total of about eight weeks, including four weeks after their treatment ended.
Those who had already taken part in the trial had liked using the dressings.
Because the dressings, produced by Molnlycke Health Care and supplied by W. M. Bamford, were made of inert foam with a thin silicone layer, they did not provoke allergic reactions and easily conformed to varying body shapes.
It was hoped that the results of the trial would be analysed by August next year and that it might lead to a later multinational study, Dr Herst said.

Manuka Honey Joint Venture
One thing the Far North is not short of is manuka-covered land, and a joint venture has been launched in Kaitaia to exploit the potential that resource is seen as having to generate hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars. Partners Te Runanga o Te Rarawa, Masterton firm Watson and Son (described as New Zealand’s biggest bee-keeping business and manuka honey producer) and Enterprise Northland believe the Far North could become the world’s primary source of bioactive manuka honey, used in medicines and medical treatments, the project launched in Kaitaia ultimately being aimed at establishing a centre of excellence in the Far North, based on manuka’s special qualities.
The additional opportunity of moving into the sustainable farming of native timbers, using manuka as a nurse crop, will also be explored. The partners say manuka’s medicinal properties have made it the world’s most sought-after honey, and with beekeepers competing to secure sites, manuka had undergone a transformation from unwanted scrub to a valuable land use. Returns from the combination of medical-grade manuka honey production and sustainable native forestry have the potential to equal or even exceeed those from dairying on the same Northland land, they say. Northland also has two advantages over other regions in that its manuka honey has high levels of bioactive compounds and its concentrated areas of manuka.
The three organisations have now undertaken to work together to help support intensified production of bioactive manuka honey in the Far North, saying partnerships would be essential to success, and that more were likely to be added as the project progressed. Tasks for the next five years will include the setting up of a beekeeper training college, intensifying beekeeping as a cottage industry in the Far North and the building of processing, storage and quality assurance facilities. That is expected to create 200 direct jobs within five years, and produce annual earnings from honey at full production, of about $68 million. Added value processing within Northland would increase the return, and further jobs and economic benefits would be created by the servicing needs of a bigger honey industry. Enterprise Northland CEO Brian Roberts said an even greater opportunity had been identified, if the venture could break into the international market for manuka-infused bandages for the treatment of wounds and to fight ‘super bugs.’ Manuka was more effective, cleaner, greener ,safer than the alternatives, the main option currently in use being silver-infused bandages. “Economic development projects of this magnitude are rare for
Northland, and rarer still for the Far North,” Mr Roberts said. “It will need partnership and commitment from many organisations and individuals to ensure that the maximum benefit is secured.”
Enterprise Northland’s role in facilitating the project would include providing a project manager to develop the venture. Watson and Son managing director Denis Watson, whose fam- ily has whanau links to the North, said his company’s objective was to secure as much high-quality manuka honey as possible.
“Manuka as a replacement for silver-infused bandages is a multi-billion dollar opportunity, and the challenge
is to get enough manuka honey to satisfy the demand,” he said. “We are currently experiencing just the beginning of the potential of manuka as a healing and health product.”
Watson and Son had already established markets in the United Kingdom, the United States, Middle East and China, and also owned an advanced wound care company in the UK. A partner, Watson & Murray Associates, would manage the Northland operation, including land agreements and hive ownership opportunities that would
arise in the near future. Te Runanga o Te Rarawa CEO Kevin Robinson said the venture represented a huge opportunity for Maori in the Far North. “For over 30 years a lot of the land has been under-utilised and has re-
verted back to manuka, with young natives regenerating,” he said.
“Instead of cutting and burning manuka we’re looking at sowing seeds to increase the resource.
“By supporting people in rural areas to start up beekeeping businesses we begin to rebuild sustainable com-
munities.” Far North District Councillor Ian.Bamber, who has a particular interest in economic development, said he was stunned by the project’s potential. “It would be a massive industry up here if it can be pulled, and hopefully the council can help,” he said.“It will provide an income off land that has been marginal in terms of any other production, it will provide work for a lot of people and a pathway for people to own their own businesses. “People can do their training here, which is a huge plus, and people of all ages can participate.” ages can participate.”
